Dry cupping uses either plastic, silicone, or glass cups with a suction pump to lift soft tissue in an upwards direction. Your skin will rise and redden as blood vessels expand and may result in yellow-red-dark purple marks on your skin. It is believed that the darker the mark, the more toxins are being pulled from deeper muscles and that the blood was more stagnant there. Cupping allows more blood flow to the area, thus, increasing blood to that specific cupping area, which in turn, can help reduce inflammation in another area by pulling more blood and fluid there. Great to use for stiff or weak muscles, also to help areas that are congested, and areas that simply have poor blood circulation.
